At what point does someone realize the impact war has on them? When does attacking first become a reaction and not a choice?

The people of Meadowmere seem to be good people most of the time, but when conflict arises combat is the first choice. I’m especially concerned about the ranking guardsmen, Raine.
For someone who should be a beacon of lawful intent they are dishonest, disrespectful, and one of the first to take up arms. He was attempting to deceive his way into a holy place simply because he was told he couldn’t enter.

This is the second catastrophic event that has befallen this group of people and I’m starting to believe that they are looking for a fight everywhere they go.

At this point Mu’kan, Dahlya, and upon meeting him, Hermes seem like the only people who I can trust.
