Booming Raine

The salty sea water gives me life!!
Our trip from the Vertigron Isles to Baahir lands wasn’t too bad, thankfully.
I did notice some things though: Sam and Bruzog have been in quiet conversation over and over again. Marcus went elsewhere. Gladius, Riana, and Rikku have all been training with weapons to better their guard responsibilities. Willow is behaving skittishly or maybe antsy? Grimm is gone again. Larkin is on the lookout for certain butterflies. Kalen, Imend, and Hermies are huddled together a lot, exchanging coin. Wolf is getting hairier and Rose keeps trying to help others. Eilonwy’s behavior is peculiar. Atlas keeps Zelzor company. And then there is Verrin… he makes my skin crawl. The way he looks at me. The way he snarls. The guy hasn’t said two words to me in months, avoids me when I come close, but seems to always be watching me. Yet, so many are chums with him. I don’t know who to talk about this with.
More swimming now! The whole community seems to have finished unloading from Denali’s ship. I’m holding out as long as I can in the water. But I need to get out soon… Simon is gone again and I’m the highest rank town guard. Wait, someone just dropped from one of the portholes of Denali’s ship. They’re swimming to shore… I’m going to go check what’s up. Is that..

I come to and see Denali’s ship destroyed in a blaze and many parts of the docks are burning. Time to help put out the fires and help any wounded! Water hear my song!!
After fighting fires and helping others for a bit, a pain flares behind my left shoulder. It’s excruciating. I ask a dwarven sailor who’s been helping out to look at my back and his eyes grow wide as he tells me I have a length of wood stuck in me. It must have happened during the blast but the adrenaline kept me from noticing. He beckons over a helper and they brace me as they go to pull it out. He counts down from 3 and all fades to black.
