Gladius Konstantinos, that’s my name. Born in the Capital, The Forever City. I am from the house of Tristar, a rich homestead, raised by my mother, Rosaline Konstantinos, and my strict father, Nyoka Konstantinos. Mother was sweet and cared for me. She was always a warming light. But father, on the other hand, was strict, but I still loved him for I was his kin, and he taught me how to fight. He was Captain in the military, he was always either giving orders or taking them. Even at home, he would have no time for family matters. By the time I was 7, my father went cold after a fight for a dumb totem that he failed to achieve. He became demanding of mother, and she despised him. Mother would talk to me about a haven me and her could go to. A haven protected by the great Aquila, the divine golden eagle that my mother adored and worshiped. We were soon going to leave, but then my mother died of “sickness”, my father said. When I was 8 my father got me to take after him and fight. I didn’t fight him because I was bored with constantly roaming around the house the past year. Father was relentless in training me; he brutally pushed me to the extremes of my weak physical body.

The next year, he enrolled me to work for him in the military. I loved this job. I got to fight and protect the capital. But sometimes I’d question some of the things I would do just because of what I was ordered to do. By the time I was 15, a big fight came up, one my father’s been waiting for. He led in front of me, and we fought with 5 others behind us. Father was steady fast, and I earned to be like that. So even though I was tired, I kept pushing forward as well. Soldiers slowly started to fall, and we were outnumbered…. Moments pass and I feel a sharp pain in my side that feels like hellfire. I then felt an ice-cold metal against my throat. They demanded my father surrender, given that there wasn’t much left of us. But instead, he took off. Out of sight. He left me… my own father is gone, leaving me his only son behind to die. Out of anger I RAGE! Knocking the man off me. I glided my sword into his torso, twisting the blade through him. I looked around for another victim blinded by blood. An arrow flies and clinks off of my glowing yellow chest. I screamed! And rushed into him, knocking him down. He must have been a boy no older than me. I started to calm down, but the boy shoved a quiver into my shoulder. I shrieked in pain as he took off. I was exhausted and confused. So many bodies and for what? My father and his own dumb goal? I fell in the field among the bodies with an eagle hovering above me…

I wake up in a worn tavern room wrapped in bandages. Now I’m more confused. “Why was I glowing earlier?”
        “How’d I get here?”
“I helped.” Stated a young half elf. He claimed that he was my half-brother. My father’s bastard child of an affair that he tried to cover up. How did he cover this up? My brother Stinge stated that Nyoka was doing shady undercover work and used his high status to get what he wanted. That whole battle didn’t have enough fighters, and now I know why. It was part of his cover-up. This group of people, the “Myrats”, my father called them, were an innocent rebellion trying to stop him. They finally got enough evidence. One of which being Stinge. He witnessed Nyoka kill his mother. Now I know for sure. I had to stop him. The next step was to find him. But first I needed to heal. Me and Stinge camped out for a couple of days. An eagle started following us too, I named him Koda, he weirdly listens to me and let me teach tricks! We ran into the town of Meadowmere where they were having a feast. When I decided to join them, my brother left me. Literally my only family and he left?! I continued to stay with Meadowmere, while I looked out for my father. Apparently, he was getting even richer in the capital. I even went back to my old home, which was sadly abandoned. I didn’t see him, but I decided to leave anyway. But now I’m with Meadowmere and part of their military they’re my new family and I will protect them, and I will do it for my mother and myself.
