As Mudd and I made our way back to the outpost after the events that recently transpired, I found my thoughts drawn to the heavily redacted letter that I found. The only scrap of information I could find. More questions. Always more questions.

Luckily my thoughts were interrupted by Mudd’s mumblings about food. We decided to set up camp about half a days journey from the outpost. I woke up to find him studying law books, although they were upsidedown, spouting a steady stream of incoherent babble about “shovel law”. I should probably see about finding him some legal assistance in the matter.

As I approached the outpost, the sound of laughter and the smell of delicious food made me feel grateful for the friends I had made. No. The Family I had found. They fight for one another. And they fought for me.

The Festival Of Growth was taking place which brought with it many new faces. Which would normally make me uneasy but the food was divine as was the company. Some fellow seafarers have settled in and I’m very interested to see what kind of alliances will be made.

A thought occurred to me to abandon rebuilding the ship and use my resources to set up shop here at the outpost. Could be a very lucrative opportunity? Either way I have decided to become a merchant. It was either that or the military. Cash or Combat? The thought of taking orders makes my skin crawl.

With all the festivities going on I almost missed the troubled tone in Simon’s voice. I wish I could accompany them into Dejardin territory. As joyous as things are, I can’t shake the feeling that war is coming.

Still happiness has found us for the moment so I focus on things like sparring with friends or Raine’s Fit-For-A-King ooey gooey coconut cake and Lembas bread. I can only hope that things go well for Bruzog and the others.

With my stomach full, the hammock beckons.
