Larken’s thoughts

I came to this world through accident, a momentary trip and I was here. The residents of Meadowmere, our newly named home, (I still think it should have been Thornwilde!) took me in and treated me as family. I was finally free! No more exile, no more loneliness, my butterflies and I had found a real home. I rejoiced and danced and sang and played…and now that playing must come to an end. My new family is in trouble. War is here and they are in danger. Many persons who have also come through the portal in de Jardin are in danger. I must now use whatever skills and fairy wisdom that I have to help them. How, oh how do I help them? I have studied the map with Bruzog, Kalen and Arriana. Perhaps we can figure out how to get the refugees out of de Jardin.

I thought this summit would be a party…how wrong I was. The lady Gillette de Jardin has already caused pain to my new family. She is one to be watched. Although Moonshadow is not always the best behaved butterfly, perhaps he would be willing to shadow her, to keep me informed. Thornwilde, of course, will stay with me, to give me wisdom…

Oh, the sorrows of this summit! Poor Eufie, how terrible that she had to die! The pitiful horde, so hungry! The awful fire that almost took our Po Chi Lam and did so much damage to the tavern, school and summit hall! The hostage situation of Kalen and the frightening caves where he was hidden. The burying of Raine, when the caves crumbled around us.

But the beauties of this summit! Brave Kalora, running into the building to rescue the Po Chi Lam! Our family, working as a team to put the horrible fires out and to move the rocks that blocked Raine in. Crafty Marcus, taking gold from the awful woman, to get close to Kalen to help us rescue him!

What skills do I have to offer? I can fly, I can influence people to do things and tell the truth. I can make healing potions and other new recipes have been purchased for me to learn. My butterflies can survey the land for me and tell me what is ahead. I hope what I have to offer is enough.

Yes, playtime is over…and now I must turn my mischief, my craftiness on the de Jardin…
