Peaceful Ends

Walking through the marketplace as the sun sets behind the wall, the smell of freshly baked goods and spices fills your lungs. Both smells together make your stomach ache. Even though it’s busy, it’s very peaceful at this time of day. It feels nice, it’s not too hot and there’s a quiet breeze about. Children of different races run through the streets, talking and laughing amongst themselves. The lanterns are starting to become lit, as the sky becomes dark. The Oasis reflects the lights and sky. Stopping by its end, watching the ripples move ever so gently.

“Are you ready?” His voice cuts through your thoughts. You glance at where he stands on your left. “Yes”, you reply without a single regret. An echod scream makes its way through the marketplace, a crowd follows from where it starts. They rush by the two of you, you both vanish as the crowd continues past. The water is still and the starless night reflects upon it.
