Today is the Meadowmere Restoration Festival, and The DodgeCo Pawnshop is open for business!
Isabeau is marrying into the Royce family and sent us food and supplies for helping to “liberate” her. Also a painting of an elephant, chasm, and eclipse.
Some new faces came to town today, mostly beastfolk. They had less than good intentions. They were looking for a shaman of some sort. An owl beastfolk (Hooter I think) was stealing from folks. And eventually the lot of them stole the painting and and some special rock and performed a ritual during (or causing, not sure) an eclipse. After that there was an earthquake, re-damaging our newly repaired buildings, and causing this great big hole to open. We got the painting back and drove them out. But then some spooky SOBs showed up, screaming and throwing magic around.
Turns out the rock could reveal a secret message and map in the painting. I think those beastfolk (Sanctuary) are after the sages and their relics for some reason.
A lot of the town is headed out the desert to try and head them off, led by the map we found and another newcomer, a beastfolk named Eilonwy. But she’s offering to pay, so I might tag along. I don’t think I’ve been kicked out of Velazquez yet.
