Still here. Found out that the dire wolves were just some hunting dogs of a hill giant that got loose. Some adventurers had already killed two of the four dire wolves. I got a lucky strike on one of ‘em who was already injured I’m pretty sure, so I brought it into town and got my payment. Kill steal? Maybe, payday? Yes. I mean the guys who I saw taking on the wolves had plate armor I assume they aren’t hurting for coin. The town announced that since a hill giant has been found in the area they’re paying for a group of adventurers to go kill them preemptively. Will I join them? Id like to. But I know they wouldn’t have me on the team, I mean cmon. An upstart who just got out of the academy. Who’d want to hang out with a loser like me. I’ll probably move over to the next town.
OH OK BAD NEWS WOLVES NOT GONE I REPEAT WOLVES ARE NOT GONE! So uh, while I was on the road to Markova I saw a farmer running towards me and I’m like, shit. More so because I’d have to interact with this guy and that’s awkward and stuff but I look behind him AND THERES A FUCKING DIRE WOLF COMING RIGHT AT HIM. I ran towards the wolf and took it out after about three hits. The guy was so thankful and offered to help me carry the dire wolf back to the village so that I could get my reward. As we walked back we made some nice small talk, he told me about his family. He has two young sons who are currently learning to read. His elvish husband is teaching them to read in celestial also. He seemed like he really loved his sons, saying that he was being chased by the wolf because he was out foraging for flowers for them. That’s so nice.
Anyway he also told me about a weird circus that had come into town recently. And when I say town I mean in middle of nowhere. Seriously it’s a good 15 minute walk outside the town in the woods. Lemme just say bad business decision. Whilst weird he said that it came to other towns but avoided theirs until now so everyone is super excited. I think I’ll check it out. My parents never let me go to carnivals or circuses so it’ll be fun to actually experience one.
