During the events that happened in Haven, I decided to join The Consortium. A group of well trained swords-for-hire. A concept I was familiar with though their loyalty to the crown remains foreign to me. Fighting alongside them reminded me of my crew and their untimely demise.
Vengeance circles my thoughts. Weapons. I had only my swords and the knife I was shaving with when my ship went down. Nothing else. Pitiful.
Paradigm must pay.
Mudd and I made our way back down to the Cobalt Mangrove and I decided to check the shore line of the basin for wreckage. I found a few things had washed up on shore. Most had been scortched in the battle or scavenged but I did manage to find my knife belt. And the contract that lead to all of this.
Must have been aboard one of their ships. Washed ashore like my knife belt. My ship? Destroyed. My crew? Dead. My vitality? Fractured. I wanted vengeance. I wanted answers. Getting a ship was my highest priority right now but for that I needed money.
Hopefully working with The Consortium will fill my coin pouch quickly so I can find the one responsible for what has happened. Fortunately this contract provided me with a name. Corvis Koralis. May have to pry some answers out of him but I will find out where they’re hiding and fix this “privilege” they have “bestowed upon me”. Sometimes reading the fine print is a good thing.
I sat with the waves for a bit longer before heading back. I found Mudd by the smell of whatever he was cooking. Smelled like death but tasted good. Eventually I will help him get his shovel of his wherever it may be but for now the hammock beckons.
Draven.
