My morning was the usual chores at the Po Chi Lam. I tended to the shrine, cleaned the bedding. I like chores. Things become clean! It’s also why I like to dig in the trash! If I get dirty, then I can clean! I think this is similar to the Yin and Yang that Hanu talked about.

I was working on cleaning up my alchemy kit when I saw Bruzog had returned! I dropped my things in excitement and ran to give him a hug. But Simon and Kalen were not with him… He told me that there had been trouble, and Kalen had teleported him and Simon to safety, but was captured in the process…
My teacher was taken away. Simon was trying to figure a way to get him back, so he had not returned. I hugged Bruzog, I was scared, and angry. But Bruzog reminded me that Simon was very capable and would probably find a solution. I gave Bruzog a hug and wiped my eyes from the tears. Bruzog helped me gather my things, I thanked him and he went to tell the others the news.

I decided to try and distract myself with study. That is what Kalen would do! I went to the job board and found that there was a call for healing items to the guild. I went to gather resources to work on learning a new recipe that Larken had given me. I don’t have the same kind of setup as her, but I think I can make a similar potion with aspects that my father had written down as well. I went to the outskirts of town and began to gather resources. A very very tall man approached with a colorful egg in hand. He stated he would share it with me. I was excited to try this egg! He cracked it open and….

“BGAWK!!!! Baaaaaaaaaawk bawk bawk bawk bawk….BGAWK!!!”

Seeds? Seeds? Corn? Food? STRANGE MAN! STRANGE MAN IS CHASING ME! RUN! RUN! RUUUUUUN!!!

My head became cleared and Tannas was next to me. What the heck had happened? Kelora walked over and gave me a hug. The eggs apparently had some pretty potent magic in them. Maybe it was best to not eat those…

I continued my gathering throughout the day. I asked for some help for protection. It’s not safe to go alone, always bring a friend! I gathered up my plants and headed back to the Lam. It was very chaotic. The new military leader told me to be the responsible one. I am very responsible.

“Be the responsible one.”

There was lots of shouting as people seemed to keep opening eggs. I began my studies and the Po Chi Lam was soon filled with people afflicted by the eggs! I put my potion aside to assist in patching the strange injuries that only seemed to effect peoples arms. Were the eggs…disarming people? Felt like a bad joke. I cleaned the wounds and bandaged them up. There was going to be a lot of laundry to be done! The onslaught of patients eventually slowed and I was able to complete my studies for the recipe. I can make healing salves now, this should help with getting people healed quicker as my magic was not infinite. Papa would be very proud! Mama has passed on to be with him at this point. It was nice to have her around a bit but she was limited with how long she could have stayed.

I spent more of my day trying to study my letters. I have learned more from Arianna, but…it’s getting confusing. Some of the letters look familiar and it’s hard to distinguish the difference. I am going to have to study very very hard! I fell asleep while studying. Whoops!
