Everything is silent. No sounds, no voices, no noise. I don’t even hear the sand move across the wind. My mind and heart are empty, my vision is slowed. I lost Taka… Again. This time it was permanent.
What happened to us? Why follow such a lie? I saw the war flags in front of my face countless times, but I had hoped that we were not completely lost…
Hope… how pathetic. Hope is what got us here, that is what strengthens the lie. Taka said he met this Guardian in person… I should have asked who he is, “the Guardian speaks through visions of the mind”. That is someone with great power and magic.
Xulak, I wouldn’t have dared to say your name out loud nor write. You are our ancestor, Sanctuary is after you. Your blood lives through us, our numbers are already dwindling if not more now. I have to find your soul and return you to us, or only myself. If I truly am the last. This spiderfolk may lead me in the right direction, hopefully before Sanctuary does… I should never have told them the location. Hope is my flaw. I will do better, if not for myself but for you Xulak.
