In the temperate hills of the Duchy Jernigan, in the Earldom of Royce, we observe one of nature’s most curious of evolutionary choices, the Johnny.
Our Johnny starts his day as he starts most others, being expelled from his night’s resting place, the crawlspace of a local resident of Meadowmere.
Johnny then proceeds to perform his morning routine; scrounging in the garbage and other people’s possessions to find something useful to sell. His efforts pay off, gifting some scraps of leather to the local blacksmith and a good customer of his, and finding a mildly enchanted trinket that he trades to the village witch.
We now see Johnny gathering the attention of some local townsfolk, leading them down to the local stream. He performs a sort of ritual, convincing the townsfolk to throw debris into the stream. Whether this is for some spiritual purpose or for his own amusement, we cannot be sure.
As the days go by, we see our Johnny in crisis. A rival tribe has entered his dwelling, the Johnny Hole as it is known colloquially, and seen to expel all of its residents. Our Johnny puts up a shockingly effective resistance for his standards, injuring a few of his assailants and not once coming close to death himself, but he and his comrades are no match for the rival force. Dislocated from his home, we can only watch our Johnny from afar as he decides his next move.
