Kazuro would be meditating just outside of camp. He was enjoying the peaceful quiet with only the stars to accompany him. He needed this solitude; for it gave him the time he needed to contemplate the events which happened recently, and his involvement, or lack thereof.

“Sanctuary” the word and it’s meaning tumbled in his mind over and over again. “How can it be sanctuary if those that saught to try diplomatic relations get attacked unarmed?” He thought about how those in Meadowmere had entered the temple, only to hear the screaming coming from inside? Yet he did nothing to stop it. He retreated when he should have fought, and it put the lives of his sister and employer at risk. How could he betray them and leave their side? He could just hear the words of his husband in his head. “Rocks for brains.” His father would have called him worse, and he knows he is not going to hear the end of it from his sister. How could he betray the very ones he fought a war with and leave their side? Now, he has a lot of making up to do.

He would draw his katana once again and run through the movements Hanu has taught him, but this time, his swings were more fierce, as if he was battling something in his head, and his body moved along with the inner battlefield. “Sanctuary, what an amazing lie that was, and I fell for that lie. No more!” The katana danced in the night with his movements becoming more rhythmic. “I am Kazuro Rai Yagoni-Itsumo, and I will defend Meadowmere till my time here is over.” The training would go on into the night, for the night offered no rest or peace in his mind.
