Kudos to Wren, Kay, and Spencer for overcoming the obstacles in the kitchen and still serving up some great meals. You all rocked the house.
RP kudos to the Mortality Quest NPCs for scaring us so badly.
And for Adam, as Hermes, with the Narration mechanic.
Kudos to Raine and Kelora for the epic RP Friday night. And the flying tackle-hug after.
Kudos to Larken for the low-key villain moment at Sunday breakfast. Watching folks slide away from her was amazing. It was both scary and a little humorous at the same time.
And for the escape room quest, which was a real bonding moment for the group I was with.
Aria,
We share a love of our adopted home, and with that in mind, I assure you that nothing in this endeavor would be hurtful to Meadowmere. Nor in this endeavor would I ask you to break any laws of our lands. (More than a few DeJardin edicts may be violated in the process, though).
Though I am not bad in a fight, as you saw more than once today, I prefer less violent solutions to conflicts. Especially where those who have been displaced from their homes are concerned. I believe we share a desire to help the displaced. It is that passion and that wit that I think would help in liberating so many from the DeJardin lands, using means more subtle than the sword. This is as much a war of words as a conflict on the carrion fields of battle. At no point was this more clear to me than today when the first woman we encountered cried out in gratitude to her gods when she learned she had arrived in our town. My heart was filled to bursting with pride at this victory, for we have become a beacon of hope to the victims of Lady Gillette tyranny.
Nothing larcenous is going on here. At least, not where our guard is concerned. Lady Gillette, however may take a dim view of our activities. I’m not asking you to join some sinister criminal enterprise. (The DeJardin may think so, but the Jernigans should find no fault in our little venture.) Merely hoping to bring your talents to an enterprise that focuses on helping those displaced by the DeJardin without swinging a sword.
There will be danger, make no mistake. We WILL be flouting the laws of the enemy. But the laws of Meadowmere? I would not ask you to do anything that would put your face on a Consortium wanted poster. Rest assured, when I spoke of more subtle methods, I did nae wish to engage you in any crimes against our home. That would be foolish. Among my people, we have a saying. “Always pee downstream.” In more civilized terms, never do anything to harm the place where you lay your head. I never have, nor will I ever bring harm on Meadowmere or my fellow townsfolk. Nor will I ask (or allow) another to. My actions ere now should have spoken this more clearly than any words I’ve uttered. Given that the agents of the DeJardin may be seeking us out to do us harm, I dared not be more direct.
I hope this clears up any misgivings you have.
