(From the private journal of Thecus)
Before I began our intense new training regimen, I took some time to relax, which I rarely allow myself to do. Yes, I finally accepted that I can’t climb very well with only one and a half legs. I hate staying on the ground this much. Until the restoring potion is ready, that’s just the way it has to be.
I went to a secluded meadow by the river, where only geese kept me company. (And my decoy. I wasn’t prepared for the strange attachment Ihave to this thing. I hope the others in my troop don’t notice!) The islets in the river made me long for home. But I won’t go back until I have something to show for myself.
Next time… Next time I’ll find a place with some people in it and practice the art of conversation. But that can wait until I have my leg back and my weapons on me, just in case. And it can wait until my training has me feeling tough and capable instead of reducing me to a quivering mass of overtaxed muscle. Thanks for that, Pepper Snowflake.
