Day 380.

Events at the fort have been interesting as of late. The order seems to be more present than usual. With the events of a month ago where a rouge Order representative made their way to our region, a paladin stopped by looking for him. I hadn’t had a chance to sit down and write about this, but the rouge Order rep was using some outlawed types of magic. He specifically was using Blood Magic. Although I have seen it before, I have not seen it on this plane. He also had some sort of enchantment built into a skull that seemed to hold his essence. When struck he was being hurt, but kept getting back up, it was only when the skull was crushed that he finally fell. I was so close to having the Skull for my own. I can only imagine what I could have learned from it. This has only reinforced my understanding that within the Order I will find more closely held secrets than I have found other places.

None the less, those events are certainly a precursor to the more recent ones. Signing up with the Order I have now been given a representative, a teacher if you will; A particularly interesting Teifling named Valdis. I remember her from the day I came through. I remember her and some of the others there at Whisper Ridge. That day was a little more than a year ago now, but none of them saw me, or at least if they did, they wouldn’t remember me. But she doesn’t remember that day either. Either she is being very creative with her description of events, or she doesn’t remember them anymore. I would apply my own abilities here as a possibility, but I have yet to see anyone else with my capabilities. Muted as they may be.

Speaking of Creative explanations, there was a new entertaining individual that made his way into the group and individual called Imend. He was speaking of another deity that I have never heard of before. Likely to cause some trouble seeing as it’s not an approved religion, but should at least be a good show.

The magic here is growing more and more, its uses are getting more and more versatile. A bird named Kirren(sp?) had a run in with some undead. Which itself is a bit unusual around here, but she displayed something quite fascinating. She was able to transform one from an malicious grotesque monstrosity to its former self. A commoner from up near the capital. They were confused and had the memories of their past, but had no recollection of recent events. One, the fact that they retained their memories and felt that changes as they reverted back into their former self is not only fascinating and wonderous, but that a being having the ability to do things like this on this plane is theoretically inconceivable but here we are. What makes this plane different? Why are these powers represented else ware but not here? I have seen them, the worlds I have been to out shadow this in their prowess, but here… here it’s a much more level field.

Kirren was running from someone, the only real clue that we had was the red face. I wasn’t sure who or what could have been scaring something so powerful.
Another bout of inspiration came from Someone using arcane inscriptions on the interior of chests that where triggered upon opening them. This fascinating creativity of arcane energy lead me to opening one, just to understand how it worked. To no surprise to anyone the one in which I opened, flashed in a bright light and burned my hand. It was a necessary risk. I had to understand how it worked and see what I could of the sigils before they went off.

We heard echoes of whatever set the traps. Imend said it was Phelix and seemed quite frightened by it. Something from his home long gone. The same world as Zeravica. Both had very strong opinions about this being and Kirren seemed to believe this was her accuser. Why Phelix is after her I don’t know, but we know she isn’t of this world.

Imend used the term Psycopomp when referring to Phelix. Surprisingly not the first time I have heard of a creature like this. LaaMorta and Aravella asked me to consider them. They believe that they are being followed by one. From my research I have gathered that Psycopomps have been depicted in many different cultures in different ways, but for the most part they seem to escort newly deceased souls from one world to the next, but what if that is just the surface of it. One world called them Reapers and where depicted as very ethereal beings and held a scythe in one hand. Another portrayed them as battle clad maidens with elegant wings to carry fallen warriors to the hall of the gods. I have even seen them What if there are different roles and they do more than just guide a soul? Valdis mentioned a space between planes, and people that were there. Does this play into it? Are they separate, or are they connected? Is Phelix and the one following LaaMorta the same? I can’t find anything on any of this in my research. I am just going to have to get more involved, I have to know.

All I know right now is that Kirren holds unknown potential and I am going to try to spend as much time as I can, learn what I can, helping them hide… as long as I can. I know the struggle that they are currently in and they may not have long in this world whether we like it or not.
