I think I need to learn to be a better diplomat. Apparently intimidation and fear do not make good bedfellows in matters of compromise. After some early morning hostile negotiations over a difference in fare, my passage on the ship, Miss Fortune, is no longer questionable. I send you this message in haste by way of this mangy bird in hopes that for some reason I go missing you will have some way to track me. Let’s hope this trip is uneventful.
